Nyoko is a super friendly ex-stray boy. We rescued him off the streets a few months back when he had injured paws, which looked raw and ‘burnt’. Nyoko was taken to the vets. At first, it was thought that the paws were literally burnt but at a later stage, the vet suspected that he is suffering from feline plasma cell pododermatitis, commonly known as pillow foot. This disease can be treated with antibiotics though which is good news, however, as Nyoko is also FIV positive, the healing process is prolonged and, in his case, extremely slow. One paw is now healed but the wound on the other paw keeps re-opening.
Sadly, Nyoko is quite run down and suffers from other health issues that we are keen to get to the bottom of before he can go to his forever home.
He is such a sweet boy, loves his food, and tolerates being washed on his foot, and even wearing a baby sock! He plays lots and adores catnip.
We are raising funds for Nyoko to establish all of his other underlying health issues so he can be treated properly. He will need a chest x-ray, dental treatment, and a scan for a suspected polyp in his throat to start with.
Nyoko is booked at the vets today. These initial checks and dental treatment will cost approximately £400 plus medication and consequential further treatment.
