Stokey Cats…and dogs<\/strong> was born as a Facebook group in July 2014. Originally it was set up only to reunite lost pets with their owners. Unfortunately, many cats found on the streets or in someone’s garden weren’t microchipped, didn’t have collars, were not neutered, or were badly injured so classified as “stray”. Many locals joined the FB group and very quickly we became an online network for like-minded, animal-loving people who help stray cats to find their forever loving homes.<\/p>\n

So what is it that we actually do?<\/strong>
\nWe are a small animal charity with a strictly no-kill policy. We take into our care cats that are injured, old, ill, or disabled as well as pregnant mums and abandoned kittens. Our goal is to rehome all cats in our care but cats that are too ill to be rehomed stay with us in long-term foster care (end of life) and we do all we can to give them love, care, and dignity to the very last breath they take.<\/p>\n

We also help to rehome cats due to their owner’s change of circumstances or whose owners sadly passed away as well as unwanted dogs, birds and rabbits although their number is less than the number of rehomed cats.<\/p>\n

All cats in our care are neutered, chipped, treated for fleas and worms, and vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Although we are a registered charity, we don’t get any funds or support from government organizations so it is very important for us to self-fund ourselves when it comes to the vet bills such as the dental, injured pelvis, x-rays, heart ultrasounds, or other life-saving surgeries. Our operation relies heavily on the donations of kind people like yourself. Thank you!<\/p>\n
