For those of you who followed Beleela’s story and her journey from Egypt, here is an update.<\/div>\n

Beleela had a blood test done and multiple X-rays under anesthesia.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Unfortunately, the vet was saddened to admit that there is nothing surgical-wise they could think of to fix the legs \"\ud83d\ude42\"<\/span> It looks like Beleela was exposed to trauma when she was very young. That trauma caused damage to the bones. The bones didn’t heal properly and grew in opposite directions. At this stage, any surgical intervention would cause more harm than good and would not guarantee that Beleela would walk on 4 legs again. The damage is too big and too advance and if there was a chance to fix something the vet would take that chance but sadly we are at the end of the road. Additionally, it looks from X-rays that some of the problems could also be related to developmental issues mostly affecting joints\/ligament\/tendon. Beleela’s right hind legs seem to be shorter than the left one.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As Beleela is comfortable the way she is, we agreed that the best is to let her be and don’t admit her for never-ending surgeries long-term post-op recovery with no guarantee of improvement.<\/div>\n

Maybe in the future, we could think of a cat wheelchair for Beleela but honestly speaking, after seeing her so confident, comfortable and happy, I think that the best option is to just let her be.<\/div>\n

Obviously, this is not the outcome I would hope for but I still think this is a win-win situation because Beleela is not only happy and content but also she is going to her forever loving home on Sunday!<\/div>\n

Beleela’s blood test showed that everything is fine. FIV\/FeLv negative.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
