I picked up Nyoko today at 8am and we went straight to the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (RVCS) in Potters Bar.<\/span><\/div>\n

Nyoko was bright and alert and I would like to think, he was happy to see me as much as I was happy to see him.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I was cuddling him all the time during our journey to the RVCS. Here are some pictures from our journey. It was a bit difficult to cuddle and take photos at the same time\u00a0\"\ud83d\ude42\"<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

After an hour and a half of cuddles, we arrived and lovely vets and nurses started their investigation on what could have possibly happened. It’s quite stressful that nobody is allowed in the hospital due to COVID and the consults are taking place over the phone and in the parking space.<\/span><\/div>\n

After initial talks and questions from the vets and nurses, Nyoko was admitted for further tests to RVCS.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Nyoko is in the internal medicine unit under the care of a senior specialist in the field.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The vet said that first of all, they would like to run a blood test and urine test on their specialist advanced machines. The next step would be the ultrasound of the kidneys. Depending on the results and findings, a sample of kidney tissue might need to be taken but only if it’s strictly necessary. I was told that although Nyoko had a blood test and ultrasound done at CHAT, the advanced technology at RVCS might pick up on something potentially invisible so far or overlooked.<\/span><\/div>\n
The vet said that there are a few reasons why the kidneys might be enlarged and the kidney value high in the blood test results. It might be something from an infection (kidney infection) to more sinister reasons like lymphoma. Until there is a better picture of the possible reasons, we will be only speculating so best is to let them run all necessary tests and take it from there.<\/span><\/div>\n

The consultation and the test came up to \u00a31500. I was asked to pay 50% deposit on admission. I managed to do it only because of your kind and generous donations for which I am extremely grateful.<\/span><\/div>\n

CHAT’s bill came up to \u00a3370 of which I paid \u00a3250. I desperately need to raise money for the outstanding vet bill at CHAT and the balance at RVCS. Any help towards the bills will be enormously appreciated.<\/span><\/div>\n
